Statement regarding unauthorised and fraudulent job advertisements
Doncaster College has recently been made aware of multiple fraudulent job advertisements hosted on StudySmarter (also operating as Vaia), a third-party platform based in Germany. We wish to explicitly clarify that Doncaster College has no contract, partnership, or relationship with StudySmarter. None of these advertised vacancies exist, and no recruitment is being conducted through studysmarter.co.uk. These listings were published entirely without our knowledge, consent, or authorisation, using our corporate identity without permission.
Advice for Affected Individuals
We regret any inconvenience and concern caused by this incident. We take these matters very seriously and are thoroughly investigating the situation alongside international legal teams and regulatory bodies.
If you applied for any Doncaster College role via StudySmarter, or believe you may have been affected, we strongly recommend that you report the incident to the relevant authorities and seek appropriate support. In particular, you may wish to:
- Seek guidance from the German consumer protection organisations (Verbraucherzentrale), which provide support for victims of online “job-scamming”.
- Lodge a complaint with the Bavarian State Commissioner for Data Protection (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht).
- File an official report via the German online police reporting portals (Onlinewache)
- We also recommend that you contact your bank or payment service provider without delay if you have made any payments or shared financial information with this platform.
